Monday: Rules are important because it provides structure and order to our lives and world. Without rules societies could not exist and it would be chaos. It is the same in photography. The rules provide guidelines for excellence and enhance the beauty and art of a photograph. Tuesday: Symmetry- Use Symmetry to Improve Your Photographs
Symmetry is all around us and has always been associated with beauty, so why not use it? Depending on how you are holding the camera and how much of a scene you choose to show, you can strengthen or weaken the symmetric properties of an object or scene. Roberto Valenzuela shows you how. This chapter is from the book SYMMETRY refers to a line that splits an object in half and, if both sides of the object are an exact mirror image of each other, then this object is said to be symmetrical. The line that splits a symmetrical object is called the line of symmetry. Symmetry is a powerful tool that lets you automatically create harmony and a sense of aesthetically pleasing balance and proportion in a photograph. You probably remember learning about symmetry in geometry class, but I rarely see photographers apply it in their work. That’s too bad, because symmetry is a powerful photographic tool. Symmetry is all around us and has always been associated with beauty, so why not use it? Depending on how you are holding the camera and how much of a scene you choose to show, you can strengthen or weaken the symmetric properties of an object or scene. Although there are many types of symmetries, for our purpose let’s focus on two types:
http://www.peachpit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=1845761 -This photo shows the balance between the object and its proportion down the middle of the photo . Wednesday: absent Thursday: Article: http://www.ultimate-photo-tips.com/photography-rules-of_composition.html Photo: https://fcaphotonewcomb.weebly.com/blog/rules-of-photography This rule demonstrates a balance between things that are one in front of the other. By placing one larger thing behind a smaller things, there can be. a balance where the two look the same size. This here demonstrates that. This is different than asymmetry because its not making the photo symmetrical, its making the objects look balanced. Friday: I have found that getting the exposure right and adjusted properly in different times of the day takes some time to get used to. Another thing that i have found is that shadows shift during the different times, which can leads to cool different effects and angles. The third thing that i have noticed is that the time of day can completely change the story the photo tells. Depending on the time and angle, the photo can have a completely different thee to it.

Monday: President's Day Tuesday: Absent Wednesday: How do you think that Photography is an image of life and our walk with God? Photography is an amigo elf life because of its power tp influence, and provoke people' s emotions and challenge ideas. Just as someone can be influenced by photography and they can be changed, so it is also in our walks with God. God is an influencer and can change someone in an instant, bringing from darkness to light. This is also true in photos. someones complete worldview can be impacted by one simple image. Thursday: Quiz Friday: I disagree with the quote . It takes a very optimistic view to life, which i love. however when you try to apply this quote to real life that it begins to fail. The very nature of the quote says says that if you have a "bad shot" to just develop from it and take another . The problem with this is, there are many times where people just do not have another chance . For example, i knew several people who were very young that died immediately in a car accident on the highway. These young girls will never have a chance to "develop" from the bad thing that happened to them. One of my best friends in 3rd grade was diagnosed with brain cancer. He is still Alive today. but he has no more than 5 years and the treatments fried his brain so he cannot think. The person he is today is simply a shallow shell for who he used to be. And if i were to try and give him this quote, there would be a poor response from his family. On the other hand, I love what this quote says about focusing on the good things, because there will be bad things that happen, that is part of living on earth. I also love what it says about capturing the good moments, because honestly if we only focused on the negative then we would constantly live in a state of depression. So i strongly agree that we need to focus and capture the good moments . but i think when we try to say that all of life is simply something that at can just be "redone" that kind of worldview quickly falls apart .
Monday: https://townsendnfcaphoto.weebly.com/blog 2-12-17 The difference between these photos is primarily the angle captured. The standard lens has a much narrower perspective, while the wide lens has a broader angle captured. The wide lens also squishes part of the middle of the photo in so that it can squeeze in the wider, almost panoramic view. The standard lens also seems to be more crisper in image quality . http://www.contentcreatorslounge.com/teacher-resources/video-screen-capture-tools/dslr-camera/camera-lenses-explained/ 2-12-17 The difference between these photos is primarily the angle captured. Tuesday: Why is Exposure an important part of creating images - Photography Composition? Exposure is essential for photography creation because the amount of light that is let in completely transforms what an mage looks like. Without the control of light, or exposure you wouldn't know how an image would look, it could be bad or good, but it is all left up to chance. Exposure is critical for developing and making a good photo.
Monday: Exposure is the mix off the different elements that determine how much light is let into an image; ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. Tuesday: Its better to use modes like P instead of Portrait, sports mode, etc. Because you have more control over what is happening and can usually get a more individualized and better quality photo. With the more basic modes, the camera just guesses what you want, and doesn't always capture what the photographer wants. Wednesday: https://coderjfcaphoto.weebly.com/blog/look-of-lens This photo shows a much greater portrait effect on the 50mm lens. The kit lens captures more of the entire details, but the 50mm seems to have more of an amplified affect. https://www.itsalwaysautumn.com/8-steps-to-better-photos-on-auto-step-8-50mm-lens-for-gorgeo.html The 50mm lens has a much better portrait mode in this photo. It concentrates a lot better on the subject of the photo, while the kit lens still has more of the distractions in the background. Thursday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faQVM3dhzQQ 2-8-18 Starting off, the 35mm lens captures a farther view and has more focus on the background. Moving up, the 50mm lens goes .a little closer with an even more blurry background. Finally, the 85mm lens takes the closets with the most blury background. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4069968?page=6 2-8-18 Starting off, the 35mm lens captures a farther view and has more focus on the background. Friday: I'm starting to understand more about how exposure works. The one thing that i am still confused and trying to understand more is how all three settings work together to maker good lighting. Yesterday I was shooting and the hardest part was learning how to get the three to make a good photo.
